How to register for the KFFSS-CINEART?

The Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián (KFFSS) is a festival of filmmakers for filmmakers.

Our goal is to "highlight the talent of filmmakers," and that's why we use online exhibition (streaming) to free ourselves from the time and space limitations of physical festivals, allowing us to host many more films and reach more viewers each year.

Another of our values ​​is to maintain direct and fluid communication with all participants to address any needs and thus achieve a much closer relationship.

Now, we ask for your full attention in successfully completing this registration protocol for your film. We need you to read this document carefully and follow its instructions:
 

A.- KFFSS REGISTRATION PROTOCOL (KURSAAL-CINEART).

1.- Have a copy of your film available on Vimeo (with an access code). We recommend not using overly complex passwords. Take note of your URL and the access code (if you have one). Any other streaming platform option, such as YouTube or Dailymotion, that does not offer Vimeo's embedding, security, and privacy options will be at the filmmaker's own risk.

For viewers to view films, they must be pre-registered with KFFSS. This ensures we comply with the privacy requirements that allow your film to be submitted to in-person festivals without any issues. As a guarantee of this, you can see below the list of the most important distributors in Spain that collaborate with our festival. 

WARNINGS! Don't forget:
a).- It is mandatory to include Spanish SRT subtitles in your film. 
b).- It is mandatory to provide access to your video without age or privacy restrictions on Vimeo. 
c).- It is mandatory to have the option to "embed" the video on other websites on Vimeo.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE! If any errors are detected in the URL, password, embedding, subtitles, and/or video access, your film will not be shown until the errors are corrected.

2. To submit your film, you must fill out the REGISTRATION FORM using the link we have provided below.
 

ATTENTION! Enter your email address and the URL of your video correctly.

In the form below, we will ask you for:
- Contact email address of the filmmaker or representative.
- TITLE OF THE SHORT FILM (in capital letters).
- First and last name of the filmmaker.
- Distributor's name.
- URL for the short film's location and password (have it ready).
- Frame from the film. 16:9 format, max. 150 KB (have it ready)
- Type: Fiction / Animation / Documentary
- Tag: Action, Comedy, Dance, Human Rights, Drama, Experimental, Children's, Musical, Romance, Sci-Fi, Sports, Horror, Thriller
- Dialogue and subtitle languages.
- Country of production.
- Running time in minutes (1 to 30 minutes)
- Synopsis.
- Photo of the Director. Requirements: 16:9 format, close-up with centered eyes, max. 150 KB. In the case of co-directors, take the photo with all their faces in the center (have it ready).
- Acceptance of the competition rules.

If you submit incorrect information, you can resubmit the form, and the last submission will be considered valid.

From the moment you register until the end of the festival, please do not change any of your film's Vimeo settings or password, so that it can be accessed through the festival's streaming service. The films will be screened online via streaming on the festival platform https://www.kursaalffss.com

B/.- PAYMENT OF THE REGISTRATION FEE

After completing the REGISTRATION FORM and submitting your film, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for making the bank transfer for the registration fee. VERY IMPORTANT: When preparing the transfer from your bank, you must write "CINEART + the film title" in the subject line, with the title exactly the same as the title used for registration.

C/.- JURY DELIBERATIONS AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS
After the jury's deliberations during the first half of September, the winners will be immediately notified privately.

D/- AWARDS CEREMONY
The AWARDS CEREMONY will be held with a dinner scheduled as part of the FILMMAKERS WEEKEND FEST (FWF).

E/.- FINAL EXPLANATORY NOTE
We remind you that the festival's official communication channel with you will be the email address with which you submitted your film. Any other conflicting information will not be taken into account.
