TUTORIAL
How to register for the KURSAAL CHANNEL?

The Kursaal Channel (KC) is an online channel for new film talent, with films categorized by type and theme, making them easier for viewers to find and enjoy throughout the year. It also helps monetize creators on YouTube and Vimeo.

WHY KURSAAL CHANNEL?

How much talent is forgotten in the attics of YouTube and Vimeo, gathering dust?

What do we have to do to help short film talent emerge from its secondary role in the film industry? Easy. It has to be permanently available to viewers as another online entertainment option. Good short films surprise audiences, and more and more people can't stand bad, long films.

One of the recurring questions viewers ask us is: Where can they watch short films once they're gone from the festival? It's not easy at all. Viewers can't be asked to search the internet on their own without the certainty of finding anything. If we want to promote the world of short films, we must make it easier for viewers to search, locate, and enjoy them.

WHAT DO WE WANT TO DO WITH THE KURSAAL CHANNEL?

A. A platform to advertise the talent of independent filmmakers. We want to create a 24/7 talent distribution channel without the disruptions that come with festivals throughout the year. To showcase filmmaking talent and bring it to the general public, it is necessary to have a permanent exhibition channel where viewers can centrally access an online catalog.

B. A tool for independent filmmakers to monetize their films already installed on streaming platforms such as Vimeo, YouTube, and others that may emerge. These platforms already offer their own monetization strategies. We need to link to the film's URL so the filmmaker can monetize it.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Only €10 for submitting the film, as it requires a resource effort that we have to pass on in some way, because things don't happen on their own and the costs of the technological platform aren't free.

HOW DO WE WANT TO DO IT?

As you know in previous activities, we don't download the films, but rather link them using the film's URL provided to us from a streaming platform, where the film is already installed, ready to be viewed.
